The murli been is the exotic instrument most often associated with snake charmers from Sindh and Punjab who use the swaying motion of the been to make the cobra snake sway to their tune. The murli been uses two to three reeds connected to a hollow gourd that functions as a mouthpiece; one of the reeds produces the drone sound and the others are used to play the melody.
